Life… Liberty… & Property

Maintaining the safety and security of our social infrastructure is the most important function of our society. Understanding that our society has fundamentally changed, and how to respond to this fundamental change is our civil and social responsibility. As business professionals, parents, and functioning members of society we must assume this responsibility personally ensuring that life, liberty, and property are protected through reasonable means.

The winds of change are not always evident or clearly defined, however, in this case these winds have mutated into raging tornados causing devastation and destruction throughout our society. Unfortunately, as human beings we are slow and resistant to personal and social change. Whether positive or negative our incremental adaptation to change is problematic. This individual personal problem becomes an inherit negative social issue when we choose to ignore the obvious signs of social distress while seeking refuge in our traditional viewpoints, routines, and normalizations creating the conditions that necessitate a high probability for tragedy; tragedy that can be avoided. Once we recognize such dangers, or once these risk have been identified, and brought to our attention it is our responsibility to act. Our actions must be proactive in response to our new social reality so that such actions will prevent these horrific tragedies, because inaction or indifference has resulted in catastrophe.
